Golden Daffodils
Based on William Wordsworth's "The Daffodils"
Why Wordsworth’s Daffodils?
The Head teacher at St Peter’s Middle School, Old Windsor, Rob Entwistle, used to read Daffodils every Spring; and it struck a chord within me.
Golden Daffodils is dedicated to all those who, like the daffodils in W. Wordsworth’s poem brighten up our lives: who make us walk more light-footed
Verses of Daffodils depicted in the music are:
[Bars5-8] I wander'd lonely as a cloud that floats o'er vales and hills
[Bars 9-13] When all at once I saw a crowd, A host of golden daffodils
[Bars 14-18] Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze
[Bars 19-25] Tossing their heads in a sprightly dance
[Bars 26-29] I gazed and gazed -but little thought
[Bars 30-35 & 36-46] What wealth the show to me had brought
[Bars 48-51] For oft. in vacant or in pensive mood
[Bars 52 - 53] My heart with pleasure fills
[Bars 54-62 & 82-94] And dances with the daffodils.
